Our approach to Modern European design was born from our own history. Emily’s parents came to America in pursuit of the American dream, carrying with them a European appreciation for the beauty found in the imperfect. We carry that history forward—not only through our craft, but as a way of living. We believe beauty can emerge from hardship, that history deserves to be remembered, and that a home should become more meaningful with time.

Emotionally Evoked Interiors was born from Emily and Andrew’s shared personal experiences. After more than a decade as firefighters, they understood firsthand the stress, intensity, and loneliness that can exist outside the home. They began to understand how deeply we all need a place that feels safe—a place where we can come home not only from the world, but back to ourselves.

That belief guides how we design for our clients. We are not interested in perfection. We are interested in honesty—the good, the difficult, the beautiful, and everything in between. We create spaces that tell the truth of the people who live within them, with the courage to embrace what is personal and imperfect.

Our work is intentional, but never overly prescribed. We leave room for the unexpected: the vintage piece discovered throughout our travels, the local artist whose handmade work changes the direction of a room, the object that somehow fits as though it has always belonged. We work directly with artists and craftspeople to create one-of-a-kind pieces that cannot be found anywhere else, while allowing the space itself to tell us what is still missing.

Because we believe the most beautiful homes are not perfectly planned. They are collected, discovered, lived in—and ultimately become a reflection of the people within them.
